… Donates ₦10 Million For Odior’s Re-Election

In a massive show of political strength, the Isoko Grassroots Movement (IGM) has mobilised supporters from all wards in Isoko North Local Government Area to Ozoro, where the group formally endorsed President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, Hon. Jonathan Ukodhiko, and Hon. Bernard Odior for re-election.

The rally was well attended by ward leaders and party faithful from across Isoko North Local Government Area.

The Director General of IGM, Mr. Kingsley Aka Utobaga, welcomed leaders and ward members, noting that despite “deliberate attempts over the past three days to sabotage the event,” it was successfully held. He commended supporters, stating that their grassroots efforts were already yielding results from the Presidency to the State Assembly. He charged ward coordinators to intensify campaigns for all endorsed candidates.

Comrade Monday Onajega praised the “mammoth crowd” for leaving their businesses to attend. He emphasised that the gathering was aimed at securing the return of all officeholders, citing their proven capacity. He singled out Hon. Odior for his accessibility in Ozoro and appealed to the community to prevail on Odior’s opponent to step down in the interest of continuity.

The IGM Leader, Comrade Timothy Esue, said efforts to disrupt the event failed “because no man can battle with God.” He described the re-election bids of Odior, Ukodhiko, and Senator Joel as a “divine project,” adding that Isoko Nation had resolved to return them, just as President Tinubu and Governor Sheriff are returning.

An All Progressive Congress (APC) stalwart, Chief Miller Akpoli, urged peaceful politics, stressing that he does not support “chasing people from office.” He appealed to aspirants contesting against Odior and Ukodhiko to step down, noting that other constituencies had held the House of Representatives seat for 20 years and that it was Isoko’s turn to enjoy ranking-member benefits through Ukodhiko’s return.

Chief Edevo and Dr. Barr. Paul Owhe echoed the endorsements, insisting that none of the lawmakers had wronged Isoko. Dr. Owhe moved a vote of confidence in all endorsed leaders, from the President to the Assembly, which was unanimously adopted by the crowd.
The event, which featured cultural dance troupes and trumpeter bands, closed with a vote of thanks by Obaro Burutu, a.k.a. Chase. He acknowledged “deliberate attempts by unscrupulous elements to disrupt the programme,” but said the challenges only strengthened their resolve. The high point of the rally was the presentation of a ₦10 million cheque by the IGM to Hon. Bernard Odior to support his bid for a second term in the Delta State House of Assembly.
