Keyamo Hails APC Primaries In Delta, Backs Party Unity Ahead Of 2027

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Olorogun Festus Keyamo, SAN, has described the just-concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primaries in Delta State as the most transparent and credible in the history of the party in the state.

Keyamo, in a statement on Tuesday, congratulated the winners of the primaries, including Senator Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta North), Senator Ede Dafinone (Delta Central), and Joel-Onowapo Thomas (Delta South), describing their victories as well deserved.

The Minister said the exercise witnessed a large turnout of what he described as “organic” APC members who participated in ward-based voting across the state, adding that the process was largely free, fair, and credible.

He noted that as a foundation member of the party in Delta State, the outcome reflected the growing maturity of internal democracy within the APC.

According to him, the primaries represented a turning point for the party in the state, urging aggrieved aspirants to accept the results in good faith and work towards party unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Keyamo also called on the winners to extend hands of fellowship to those who lost, stressing that inclusiveness and reconciliation remained key to strengthening the party’s structure.

He commended the Governor of Delta State, , for what he described as purposeful and inclusive leadership, saying his political style had strengthened democratic participation in the state.

The Minister further praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for promoting internal democracy within the party and allowing a fair process across the country, saying the development had corrected earlier tendencies of imposition and backdoor ticketing.

He maintained that the outcome of the primaries was a signal of renewed strength for the APC, urging members nationwide to remain committed and united.

Keyamo expressed confidence that the party was on course for victory in the 2027 general elections, adding that the opposition would face a difficult challenge if the APC maintained its current cohesion.

He reaffirmed his call for unity, saying reconciliation among stakeholders remained crucial for future electoral success.
