“It’s A Great Shock To Urhobo Nation”: Dema Mourns Peter Nosiama
The Labour Party candidate for Delta Central Senatorial District, Olorogun Mrs. Onome Bernice Dema, has expressed deep sadness over the passing of Mr. Peter Nosiama, popularly known as “Aunty Rukky,” describing his death as a great shock to his family, loved ones and the entire Urhobo nation.
In a condolence message signed by her media aide, Comr. Joseph Oghenerukevwe Edegware, Dema described the late Nosiama as a profound Urhobo cartoonist and cultural educator who made significant contributions to the promotion and preservation of the Urhobo language and culture through cartoons, songs and other creative forms of education.
She recalled his valuable contribution and support during her time as President of UPU America and Canada, noting that his passion for the Urhobo language and culture was evident in his work and dedication to promoting Urhobo identity among the younger generation.

According to her, his passing is not only a painful loss to his family and loved ones but also a significant loss to the Urhobo nation, considering his contributions to the development, teaching and promotion of the Urhobo language and cultural heritage.
Dema commiserated with the family, friends and associates of the deceased, praying that God would grant them the strength and comfort to bear the loss.
“May his soul rest in perfect peace,” she said.
She prayed that God would grant the deceased eternal rest and give his family, friends, associates and the entire Urhobo nation the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
