Tinubu Hails Adeleke’s Re-Election, Says Victory Confirms Nigeria’s Democratic Growth
ABUJA, NIGERIA — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election in the just-concluded Osun State governorship election, describing the victory as further proof that democracy will continue to thrive in Nigeria.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu disclosed that he had personally called Adeleke to congratulate him on his victory.
According to the President, the election result reflected the confidence the people of Osun State have in the governor and reaffirmed the strength of Nigeria’s democratic process.
“I called Governor Ademola Adeleke earlier today to congratulate him on his election victory in Osun State. His victory once again confirmed the confidence the people of Osun State have in him,” Tinubu said.
The President urged the governor to see his re-election as an opportunity to unite the people of the state and focus on delivering growth, stability, and socio-economic development over the next four years.
He stressed that governance should transcend political differences, calling on Adeleke to bring together supporters and opponents alike in the interest of the state.
Tinubu also commended other candidates who participated in the election, praising their courage and discipline while noting that their participation contributed to strengthening Nigeria’s democratic culture.
“The outcome of the election reflects the will of the people and is a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in our land,” he added.
The President further applauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for ensuring a peaceful and transparent electoral process that produced a clear winner.
