Delta Police Arrest Education Commissioner, Three Others Over Deputy Director’s Death

The Delta State Police Command has taken the Commissioner for Secondary Education, Dr. Kingsley Ashibogwu, and three other suspects into custody in connection with the death of Mr Unity Ekpevbughe Adeda, a Deputy Director in the Delta State Ministry of Secondary Education.

This was disclosed in a statement on Monday signed by signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, SP Bright Edafe, ANIPR, FCIA, FIPMD.

The development brings to five the number of persons currently in police custody in connection with the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Adeda’s death.

The Command also said it had intensified efforts to locate two other key suspects, Mrs Clemetine Ufuoma, Director of Basic and Secondary Education, and Clement Apia, the driver to the Commissioner for Secondary Education.

The police urged the two suspects to make themselves available to the Command without further delay to assist with the ongoing investigation.

The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Samuel E. Erale, said the investigation would be conducted thoroughly, impartially and professionally.

He assured the family of the deceased and members of the public that due process would be followed and that anyone found culpable would be brought to justice in accordance with the law.

The Command expressed its condolences to the family of the deceased.
