According to reports, the tragic incidence believed to have started by an electrical fault, began at 1 a.m., and sympathizers unable to put out the fire.
Oasis Magazine learnt that attempts to get the Delta State University, Abraka Fire Services to the scene yielded no result, as no driver was on ground to handle the vehicles and also could not be reached through phone, as all their lines were switched off.
Speaking to Oasis Magazine in a phone conversation, the said shop owner, Udoka, in an emotional ladened voice narrated how he received a phone call in the morning that informed him that his shop was razed down by fire.
Udoka continued: “Recently, I stocked my shop after returning from the market where I purchased 1.1 Million Naira worth of goods,” adding that he is known for the sale of original phones and phone accessories.
Udoka who is a father of three, and married to a young graduate who was recently absolved into the N-Power programme, broke down weeping, but said he has left everything in the hands of God.
Oasis Magazine gathered that two N-Power tablets belonging to a couple in Abraka were also lost in the said fire incidence.
A provision store attached to the burnt down shop was not spared during the incidence. However, eyewitnesses said that some of the goods in the shop were removed early before the fire escalated. Attempts to also remove goods from the phone shop proved abortive, as the shop was said to be very fortified and Udoka could not be reached at the time of the sad incidence.
