DTHA: I Am In The Race To Stop The Neglect Of Ethiope East, Says Ogboru

Mr. Rex Enajite Ogboru has said that he intends to represent the people of Ethiope East in the Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA), come 2019, to enable him put a stop to the neglect of his people that has lingered on over the years.
Speaking to Oasis Magazine (OM) during an exclusive chat, Ogboru opined that “the people in the area have severally elected members into the legislative arm of government in the state, who when they get there turn around and neglect the people that voted them in.”
He said: “There are no positive changes all over the place; rather, so many things are going wrong in the local government and we cannot afford to allow these things to continue. That is why I decided to throw my weight inside the ring.”
According to him, his manifesto is hinged on a three-point-agenda of empowering the youths through skill acquisition programmes and setting up small scale businesses for them, revamping the educational sector and financially establishing women in the locality to enable them go into large scale farming.”
He noted that many of the schools in the area were still the same just as they have been many years ago, saying that if given the mandate he would fix them into modern day schools.
Ogboru called on members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to be steadfast, prayerful and support him on this mission to liberate the area and choose a candidate that can attract to the area the dividends of democracy and do proper legislative jobs right there in Asaba.
The DTHA hopeful added: “The suffering is too much and we need to change a whole lot of things; there is no development in the area. Go to the schools and see the dilapidated buildings and compare this with what obtains in other localities outside of the state.
“Many projects ongoing now are poorly executed and I expect the lawmaker from this area to monitor such jobs and speak out. But he is not doing that and that is why I consider him to have failed to meet up to the expectation of his constituents.
“Look at our roads from Abraka to Eku, they are very bad and accidents occur there very often. Mind you, we have an indigene of Ethiope East in the Direct Labour Agency (DLA) and yet nothing is been done. Look at the bridge that is constructed somewhere round Ovu area. That bridge will collapse in less than 5 years. It is a very sad sight to behold.”
