Following the tensed political atmosphere in Ethiope East Constituency over who to represent the constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly come, 2019, one of the aspirants, Engr. Blessing Enamuotor, has withdrawn from the race, citing personal reasons for this decision.
Recall that the stakes got even higher recently after a harmonization meeting was convened by a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, Chief Judith Enamuotor, and five leaders of the party in the area.
The meeting was aimed at producing a consensus candidate out of the three aspirants for the party from Abraka ahead of the House of Assembly primaries election for the constituency. The aspirants are Blessing Enamuotor, Chief Evance Ivwurie and Joshua Atigogo.
However, the meeting ended in a deadlock as none of the candidates were ready to step down for each other. A party source in Abraka claimed that Enamuotor chickened out of the race due to pressure from party stakeholders in Abraka.
