Lapses During The Presidential/NASS Elections Call For Concern, Says Omolu

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the Delta State House Assembly seat in Ukwuani Local Government Area, Hon Eze Anthony Omolu, has said that he observed many lapses during the conduct of the Presidential/National Assembly elections in his constituency, adding that these calls for concern.

Hon. Omolu spoke to journalists during the polls in Obiaruku, Delta State.

His words: “Ordinarily, I would have given kudos to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, but there are lapses that call for concern. In the first place materials were delayed so that voting started at 10a.m. That is a minus to them. Security operatives that ought to be here are nowhere to be found, thus leaving voters to fend for themselves.

“My major concern is the poor functioning of the card readers. It appears to me that the card readers have been compromised so that the card readers do not function and thus pave a way for those using unauthorized Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) to cast their votes.

“They called for incident forms but I insisted that it cannot be used. The failure of the card readers is a trend I have seen in all the places I went to in my constituency. It looks like it is an orchestrated attempt to stall proper voting and pave a way for illegal voters to vote.”

“The equipments were badly configured or there is a deliberate attempt to stall its efficiency,” he added.
