Delta Commissioner For Water Resources Charges Staff To Redouble Their Commitment To Service
The new Commissioner for Water
Resources Development, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Martins Okonta, has
resumed duty with the charge for the staff of the ministry
to redouble their commitment for effective service delivery as well as cooperate
with him towards realising the ‘Stronger Delta’ vision of
Okowa administration in the water sector.
Rt. Hon. (Dr) Okonta , who gave the charge in his office in Asaba during
his familiarisation visit/resumption of duty, said that he would build
more synergy with the staff of the ministry in order to move the ministry
forward.
The commissioner, a one-time Speaker of the
Delta State House of Assembly whose early resumption shows his
pragmatic disposition to duty, said that his doors were always open to all
staff of the ministry, adding that he would strive to strive to
reposition the place for the overall good of all.
Earlier in her handing over speech, the Permanent Secretary in
the ministry, Dr. (Mrs.) Felicia Adun assured the
commissioner of the staff’s readiness to work and cooperate with him and
congratulated the commissioner for his well deserved appointment.
She said that the commissioner’s early resumption of duty was an indication
that he was a pragmatic administrator who would bring his wealth of experience
to bear in the water sector.
