Oasis Magazine Publisher Set To Bury Father

The Publisher of Oasis Magazine (OM), Daniel Dafe Umukoro, has hinted that plans are in top gear to give his late father, Rev. Albert Umukoro, a befitting burial.
Dafe, as he is fondly called, said this in a chat with journalists in Abraka recently.
According to him, his late father played a key role in making him the man that he is today, adding that he learnt the virtues of diligence, focus, kindness, excellence, amongst others from him.
Continuing, the pastor cum publisher disclosed that the funeral service will take place on the 31st of August, 2019 at Glorious Baptist Church Field, Oviri-Okpe, Delta State.
Burial arrangements showed that the service of songs will hold on Thursday, 29th August, by 4.00 p.m. at Nyonyonwan Close, Opposite Winners Chapel Road Junction, Ugberikoko, Sapele, Delta State, while the Thanksgiving Service will come up on Sunday, 1st September by 9.00 a.m. at Church of God Mission International (Sapele Provincial Headquarters), Sapele, Delta State.
Speaking further, he disclosed that at the moment some of the dignitaries that are expected to grace the event are: Sir Dele Omenogor, Chairman, Konum Farms, Amai, Delta State, Chief (Engr.) Joe Omene, President-General, Urhobo Progress Union (UPU), Worldwide (and representatives of the executive of the Youth Wing), CP Adeyinka Adeleke, Commissioner of Police, Delta State, Chief (Mrs.) Faith Majemite, Executive Chairman, Ethiope East Local Government Area, Dr. Ochuko Akpeme, South-South Vice President, National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), and Mr. Charles Aniagwu, Commissioner for Information, Delta State.
Others expected at the ceremony include: Bishop Curtis Fianu, New Warri Bishopric, Church of God Mission International, Olorogun (Barr.) Arthur Akpowowo, Commissioner for Urban Renewal, Delta State, Dr. Kingsley Amaihunwa, Chairman, Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN), Delta State Branch, and Chief (Hon.) Innocent Anidi, Member representing Ethiope East Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly.
According to him the Principal Officers of Delta State University, Abraka, are also expected to attend the programme.
“Notifications have been sent to lots of individuals and organizations; as we get their word of gracing the event, we will let the press also know,” he added.
He continued: “Stakeholders in the media industry such as the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) and publishers of newspapers and magazines in Delta State under the umbrella body of Association of Community Newspapers/Magazine Publishers of Nigeria (ACNPN) will also grace the event.
“I am anticipating a great ceremony on that day.”
He called on Deltans to join him as he bids his father farewell, saying that his father’s life impacted many and thus deserves much honour on the day he will be laid to rest.
“I know my father is in heaven now; that is my consolation,” he averred.
