Peteke: We Have Lost A Priceless Asset, Says DSP Agege

The Deputy Senate President (DSP) and Member representing Delta Central Senatorial District at the Red Chambers, Barrister Ovie Omo-Agege, has mourned the demise of a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ethiope East Local Government Area of the state, Chief Ochuko Unuagba, popularly referred to as Peteke, saying that the area has “lost a priceless asset, who spent most of his life and times pursuing peace and communal harmony among his people.”

In a press statement signed by Aruviere Martin Egharhevwa, Esq, Executive Assistant to the DSP, Agege added: “His independent mind and his dedication to doing what was right will be greatly missed.”

According to him, “the news of the sudden death of Chief Ochuko Unuagba has been most heartbreaking.”

The statement also reads: “On behalf of the good people of Delta Central Senatorial District and my political associates across Delta State, I send my deepest condolences to the Unuagba family of Eku in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State at this very difficult time of his untimely passing at his home in Eku.

“Peteke, as he was popularly known, was a cousin who lived with dignity and purpose. I feel privileged to have known him, and even more privileged that he became a great friend. He understood that friendship transcends party politics. He never let our political differences come between us.

“As a former Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Area Council and Delta State Rural Water Board, Peteke lived a life of service to his people and community. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends, and all who loved him.”

Chief Ochuko Unagba died on Tuesday at his Eku residence.

At the time of filing this report, Oasis Magazine (OM) gathered that his residence in Eku has continued to play host to symphatisers from and beyond the council area.
