Former Ethiope East Chairman, Chief Majemite, Sympathises With Kokori Farmer Attacked By Suspected Herdsmen
~ Calls For Improved Security
Former Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Council and an indigene of Kokori, Hon. (Chief) Faith Majemite, fondly known as Oniemo, has expressed sympathy with Mr. Edafe French, a farmer who was reportedly attacked by suspected Fulani herdsmen while working on his farm in Kokori community, Delta State.
In a statement made available to journalists, Oniemo described the attack as distressing and unacceptable, expressing deep sympathy for the victim and his family over the unfortunate incident.
She lamented the rising cases of violent attacks on farmers, noting that such acts endanger lives and threaten food security as well as economic stability in rural communities.

According to her, farmers and traders must be able to carry out their legitimate activities without fear of violence or intimidation.
Oniemo called on security agencies to intensify patrols and intelligence-driven operations in farming settlements and other vulnerable areas to prevent further attacks and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice.
She also urged the Local Government to strengthen grassroots security architecture through effective collaboration with traditional institutions, community leaders, and local security outfits.
While wishing Mr. French a speedy recovery, the former council chairman reaffirmed her commitment, as a daughter of Kokori, to continue advocating for improved security and lasting peace in the community and its environs.
