A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Ovo Ofigo on Thursday said he will still determine who become the President of Nigeria and the Governor of Delta State in 2023.

Ofigo who is the Ogbarode of Ughievwen Kingdom in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State made the assertion in a statement made available to Oasis Magazine (OM).

He said: “But 2023 is a crucial period when I will eventually determine who become the President of Nigeria and the Governor of Delta State.

Ofigo knocked a legislator who has been blackmailing and tarnishing his image with a view to realizing his (legislator’s) governorship ambition in 2023 in Delta State.

He enjoined the legislator to have a rethink and follow the path of honour.

“The Legislator becoming a legislator this time around was principally due to his inputs when his election was held on the same day with President Buhari. Indeed, he sailed on the boat of the President.

Chief Ofigo cautioned the legislator thus; “A word is enough for the wise. Do not bite the fingers that fed you because of your vaunting ambition.”

Chief Ofigo maintained that he has no governorship ambition but he will determine who emerges as the Governor of Delta State.

He also took a swipe at the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, who refused to grant him audience on the now Edo imbroglio.

“Some people have the gift of foretelling the future. When it became apparent that crisis was going to look in Edo State, I sent a text message titled: “Danger ahead.” Can I see you?” This, he ignored. Few hours later DSS started to hunt me as if I am guilty for treasonable activities.

“Oshiomhole may today be of the view having seen what is happening in his home State, that Chief Ofigo does not have sinister motive against him or anybody.

“The danger here is that the Edo crisis can make or unmake Comrade Oshiomhole in the sense that 2020 election in Edo is a clear pointer.”

Chief Ofigo took the opportunity to advise all leaders to refrain from hearing only one side of a story.

He added: “There are many who are bent on running down others for selfish ends. They are less prevalent in the North, but in the South especially in the South South the blackmailers are on the prowl.”

Ofigo was a contemporary of the likes of Prof. Jerry Gana, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Chief Solomon Lar and Mahmud Mohammed (former Chief Justice of Nigeria) at ABU, Zaria.

He believes he is a political bride who has the grace of the win-win spirit endowed in him by the Almighty God.

According to him, any political party he pitches his tent has always had the sway in winning elections.

He continued: “As a member of the old SDP, that party had sway. When I became a PDP member between 1999 and October 2014, PDP had the sway. But when I moved to the APC in November 2014 after the injustice meted on me by the PDP, the APC has been on the sway.
