He Wants To Kill Me, He’s Evil, She Says

By Dafe Rukevwe

A popular pastor in Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, Apostle Daniel Okache, General Overseer, Apostolic Power and Testimony International Ministry a.k.a. City of Testimony, has denied allegations by his wife, Mrs. Rachel Okache, a lecturer with the Department of Guidance and Counseling, Delta State University, Abraka, that described him as a fake pastor and into diabolism.

Pastor Okache spoke to Oasis Magazine (OM) during a telephone conversation while responding to questions over issues raised by his wife (who claims that her life is under threat).

The pastor in a video that went viral on social media was in handcuffs in his residence at Abraka, complaining bitterly that they were oppressing him and that he did no evil, saying that he is a spiritual pastor and has not committed any crime.

This happened after he was arrested by the police.

Okache added: “It was a setup. I call on the police authorities to investigate to find out those backing my wife to destroy my ministry.”

He said: “I had a little argument with my mother-in-law (who is her step-mother) last year during my branch’s thanksgiving in Warri and she has since vowed to bring down my ministry. Even when I was arrested last week, again my father-in-law boasted that I will no more reside in Delta State when they are through with me.”

Narrating what led to his arrest, he said that he had a little argument with his wife and had to seize her phones and car key and placed them on his altar in his home which he has before instructed the wife not to go to (because women do not step on his altars both in church and at home). But was shocked that the wife broke his rule and he therefore had to tell her to go because if she can do this then she can kill him.

He continued: “I called my father-in-law to tell him what had happened and he said if I want to divorce I should go ahead.”

According to him, his estranged wife has more than 9 plots of land in Abraka, saying that he pays his father-in-law monthly salary.

He continued: “The things such as the horn and other fetish things they said they saw in my house were planted there. My wife has a master key to the house and all the rooms. My house is all white, nothing red is there. Also, whatsoever they dug out of the entrance of my church was also planted there. How did she know the very spot where the ram’s skeleton was uprooted from that was buried at the entrance of the church?

“Sometime back, I had to engage the services of the local vigilante in town to guard the premises because a prophet in Warri told me that they will plant something at the entrance of my church. I know nothing about whatsoever they dug out from the entrance of the church. My wife should open up and say how she knew. I suspect that she planted it there.

“It is because I threatened to divorce her that is why she is doing all these. Even the traditional ruler in Oruarivie Abraka Kingdom one time tried to settle our marital dispute.

“She has been benefitting from the ministry now she wants to destroy me. She is in charge of selling anointing oil and other spiritual materials we use and does not remit any money to me. She is a lecturer in Delta State University, but monthly, I am the one that provides for the home, as she does not even buy ordinary maggi in my home. I am done with the two-year-old marriage.”

He added: “She does not want to find me receiving calls. It is an issue of jealousy. She hacked my phone and was able to access my calls and she also receives my Whatsapp messages. I do not know how she did it. She has driven many of my members away.

“I registered the church in the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) as a spiritual church. All the things I use like coconut are in the Bible. My calling is different from that of Moses, Elijah, Ezekiel and the other prophets in the Bible.”

“The whole episode is like a dream to me,” he opined.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Okache has said that she arrested him because he said he wants to kill her and that apart from his diabolic activities, he is ritualistic.

When asked at what point she started suspecting him, she said it was when she lost her pregnancy last year and due to the many nightmares that she always had.

Her words: “He uses Yoruba to do incantation. He always locks me indoors when he wants to pray for people in the house.

According to her, they had a heated argument that resulted in him threatening to kill her with a cutlass.

This, she said made her run away from their home and made move to arrest him.

While disclosing that she will drag him to court, she said her grouse with him was his ritualistic activities, attempted murder and impregnating a lady.

Her words: “When I married him he had nothing. I gave him 1 million when he was to buy the church land opposite Abraka Grammar School, Abraka. I also gave him over a million to buy his first car. I gave him 1.5 million Naira to purchase the land for his permanent site along the express. Why is he saying that I do not contribute to the house? I was told not to marry him but I did not listen.”

She however said she would continue with her lecturing job in DELSU, Abraka.

Apostle Okache was arrested by the police and taken to Asaba where the Anti-Cult section of the Command took his statements and released him, saying the issue was an issue of marital disagreement.

Police sources reveal that a petition was written by the wife of the cleric to the Command that led to his arrest.

OM gathered that the petition alleged that the pastor was a ritualist, but police investigation showed that no person was murdered, rather it looked more like a pastor that combines tradition and the church style together.

“He was released because it looked more like a marital dispute since we could not prove that anyone was killed.

“We plan to engage the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) to settle the couple. But if that does not work, we cannot charge the case to court because all he did was slaughter fowl, goat and cow,” the police source revealed.

“Matrimonial issues are civil, not criminal matters,” our source added.

At the time of filing this report, OM gathered that the couple was expected to return to the Police Command today, Wednesday, April 23, 2020 for cross-examination.

We were also reliably informed that while Apostle Okache submitted himself to the police today, the lady, Rachel failed to show up, saying that she is sick and admitted in an hospital (in an undisclosed location). Our source however said that they will pick a new date convenient for the both of them.
