Chief Jessa Harrison Is The Best Option For Ethiope East Chairmanship Position— Group

A political pressure group in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, Jessa Harrison Support Political Group (JSPG), has backed the political ambition of Chief Jessa Harrison, Chief Executive Officer, Jessa Global Oils, to become the next Chairman in the council area, saying that he is the best option for the position.
A press statement signed by the Chairman of JSPG, Comrade Onerhime Isaac, made available to this medium noted that Abraka seems to be left out partially from the political calculations and for equity sake should be considered by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to occupy the said office when the time comes early next year.
The statement read in part: “Though we recognize that Ethiope East is one, but at the moment the three major positions in the area, the Chairman, Commissioner and Member representing the constituency are occupied by persons from Agbon.
“It is time the people of Abraka are convinced that there is equity in the sharing of political offices.”
The statement added: ‘Chief Jessa Harrison will be a unifying figure in the area if he is given a chance by his party and the political stakeholders in Ethiope East.
“We are optimistic that he will make Ethiope East proud and move the area to enviable heights.
“Also, this will give the university town of Abraka the chance of benefitting directly from the dividends of democracy from their son.
“Abraka has over 30, 000 students and during rainfall, many find it difficult to get to their homes because the roads on their streets are bad. “Though we know the Governor has done well in road construction, we hope when an Abraka person gets the opportunity, apart from carrying out projects in every part of Ethiope East, he will be able to fix infrastructure in Abraka.
“Abraka has many banks and businesses and deserves better attention. The community needs a facelift. Though Agbon has 8 wards and Abraka 3, the voting strength of Abraka is huge and needed by any politician to win an election in this area.
“We want a situation where the Chairman and House of Assembly can be zoned separately for two terms each between Agbon and Abraka.”
They called on the state governor to step in and grant their request which they said is a cry for equity and justice.
“Chief Jessa Harrison is well-to-do, so we expect him to make impact and use the money in the council area judiciously,” the group opined.
