Obi Adimabuah Lauds Okpanam For Lockdown Compliance, Peaceful Disposition

The Asagba of Okpanam, Obi Ozili Adimabuah (JP), has commended the people of the kingdom for their absolute compliance to the sit-at-home directive while also displaying their peaceful disposition at all times.
Obi Adimabuah , who made the commendation in his palace in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area while commenting on the outbreak of Covid- 19 pandemic in the state, applauded Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for several effective measures at ensuring that the disease was not spread to the state just as he described the confirmation of a case in the state by the NCDC as quite unfortunate.
He said that Okpanam had always been a law abiding community, adding that the lockdown was not intended to punish anybody but for the overall safety of Nigerians and Deltans in particular even as the traditional ruler urged the government to redeem its promise to provide palliative measures such as food, hand gloves and nose masks so as to cushion the effect of the shutdown.
Obi Adimabuah described the disease as the most deadly since the creation of humanity and urged the people to remain steadfast and hopeful that pandemic would soon be a thing of the past.
Others who spoke in an interview including Mr. Stephen Ezeadigwu and Ogbueshi Ikechukwu Olu maintained that the proposed palliatives by the Okowa-led administration in the state would contribute meaningfully towards alleviating the plights of the people especially the vulnerable poor in the state.
While calling on Deltans irrespective of their religious denominations to pray fervently against further spread of the disease in the state, describing the confirmed index case in the state as appalling.
Mr. Ezeadigwu and Ogbueshi Olu, however, advised residents in the state to continue to observe every preventive tip by the National Centre for Disease Control and the World Health Organisation(WHO)
