The Executive Chairman of Ethiope East Local Government Area in Delta State, Chief (Mrs.) Faith Majemite, has tasked members of the Chrisitian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the council area to sheathe their swords and allow peace reign in the locality.
This call was contained in a press statement made available to Oasis Magazine (OM).
Recall that Bishop Ben Umudi during an exclusive interview with OM, urged the Governor of the state, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa to intervene in the crisis rocking the Ethiope East Chapter of CAN, saying that some of them are aggrieved over the way in which the elections that brought in Apostle Linus
Enomolele as Chairman and other members of his executive was conducted.
Bishop Umudi also warned that the peace of the area will not be guaranteed if something is not done to address the situation, as the State Chairman, Senior Apostle (Dr.) Sam Okorote stated that they held the elections in Asaba in line with the constitution of CAN.
Majemite in her statement said: “It’s a pity that some people who claim to be men of God can double speak due to selfishness and ambition. We settled the issue of CAN Ethiope East before Pastor Linus was elected and I expect Pastor Umudi and others to sheath their swords as there is no tribe in heaven, believing that power comes from God.”
