Delta: Six Passengers Escape Death, As Bob Izua Bus, Dangote Truck Collide

Six passengers headed for Abraka in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State narrowly escaped death after the Bob Izua bus they travelled in collided with a Dangote truck.

The accident occurred on Wednesday, September 30th, 2020, at a T-junction along the Eku-Abraka axis on the Sapele-Agbor route.

Oasis Magazine (OM) learnt that the Dangote trailer rammed into the 18-seater bus after the driver carelessly drove into the main road without observing properly for any oncoming vehicle.

This reporter learnt that one of the passengers (a female) was critically injured, as she sustained a severe fracture.

At the time of filing this report, sources from the Government Hospital, Abraka, where she was rushed to said that some of her family members were on their way coming from Benin City with an ambulance to carry her to Edo State in order to seek better medical services.

Four of the passengers were rushed to an undisclosed hospital in Eku, and the last of them with minor injuries to Abbey for medical treatment.

The bus driver was unhurt.

At press time he was still in police custody.

Meanwhile, the Dangote truck driver is nowhere to be found since he ran away from the scene of the accident for fear of been lynched by passersby.

Eyewitnesses commended the vigilante in Oria Abraka and others for the role they played during the rescue of the passengers who were trapped in the bus after the accident occurred.

Police sources revealed that some top management staff of the transport company visited the hospital to see the state of the accident victims.
