Calls On Government To Step Up, Stop Killings Across The State

Anioma Youth Forum Worldwide (AYF-W), has condemned in very strong terms the gruesome killing of Anti-Cult Commander, Austyne Emu by yet-to-be identified persons whose news surfaced online hours ago.

A statement signed by the body’s National Publicity Secretary,
Ekwukwo Elvis, added that “Commander Austyne Emu, a prominent Anioma Youth has over the years made immense contributions in the fight against crimes especially cultism to ensure that Delta State is safe for all and sundry.”

Continuing, AYF-W said the youth group is “saddened by the shocking news of the irreplaceable loss of the rising Anioma Star who has dedicated his energy, resources and working tirelessly to ensure that violent crimes especially those related to cultism is curbed or at worst minimized.”

AYF-W called on security agencies and Delta State Government to expedite actions and ensure thorough investigations are carried out to unravel the culprits behind the dastardly act and ensure justice is meted to serve as a deterrent to those who would want to engage in such nefarious acts in the future.

Furthermore, AYF-W urged security agencies and the Delta State government to rise up and stem the tide of the rising insecurity especially wanton killings of today’s youths but tomorrow’s leaders that is now making Deltans and other dwellers in the State live in palpable fear.

AYF-W also appealed to all youths across the state to eschew extreme bitterness that might lead to taking of a brother’s life in any social, political, tribal or religious disputes.

“The sanctity of human life must be imbibed in the consciousness of our present day youths,” the statement added.

The association also extended condolences to the family of Austyne Emu and to the entire Anioma Youths who have been thrown into mourning over the untimely death of a dogged soldier and an emerging leader, just as they wished the family and all those he left behind especially the wife and kids the fortitude to bear this colossal loss.
