Ban On Fireworks Still In Force, Delta CP Warns

Delta Commissioner of Police, Hafiz lnuwa, has warned that the ban on fireworks this Yuletide still remains in force.

In a statement signed on behalf of the Delta CP by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer,(PPRO), DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, called on parents and guardians to warn their wards to desist from such acts while those engaged in retailing fireworks should desist forthwith, as they are not exempted from the extant laws against use of fireworks.

The statement said CP lnuwa has vowed to invoke all extant laws with regards to the ban on fireworks.

The CP also urged Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers across Delta to closely monitor and apprehend anyone found engaging in the buying and selling of fireworks, no matter how highly placed.

Furthrmore, Inuwa assured all law abiding citizens of the state of their safety, urging Deltans to provide useful information to the security agencies in order to make the society crime free and peaceful during this Yuletide and beyond.
