BREAKING: Armed Robbers Block Jesse Oben Road, Kill Driver, Kidnap Passengers
By Daniel Dafe
An armed robbery operation that lasted for at least two hours occurred on Tuesday evening along Jesse Oben Road.
According to eyewitnesses, the driver of a vehicle was killed and all his passengers kidnapped after the dare-devil gunmen successfully blocked the road.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Onome Onovwakpoyeya dismissed the information, adding that the Divisional Police Officer in the area where the incidence (thought to be Ethiope West Local Government Area) was reported said no such incidence occurred.
But, a second call from her confirmed the incidence, saying that the area it occurred was under Edo State, not Delta.
She gave the police jurisdiction where the operation occurred as Igbinovba Divisional Police Station.
Photos sent to Oasis Magazine (OM) showed visibly worried passengers from other vehicles loitering the scene of the incidence.
