NDDC: George Hails Buhari Over Appointment Of Akwa As Sole Administrator
Prominent Niger Delta Activist, Mr. Tamuno George, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for appointing Mr. Effiong Okon Akwa, as interim administrator of the Commission.
George in a statement on Sunday, said the appointment of Mr. Effiong Okon Akwa, as interim administrator of the Commission was timely to overseer to the conclusion of the ongoing Forensic audit.
He said ”Mr. Effiong Okon Akwa, Interim administrator of the Commission is a Niger Deltan, who is competent and qualified for the position. I urge people of Niger Delta, especially the youths to give peace a chance and ensure that the prevailing peace in region is sustained”.

George noted that Mr. Effiong Okon Akwa, as former Ag. Executive Director, Finance and Administration, he is well positioned to consolidate on the achievements made by the Interim Management Committee.
”There is no need for unnecessary political distractions over the appointment of Mr. Effiong Okon Akwa, as Sole Administrator for NDDC. What is important is for all Niger Deltans to support the Sole Administrator to complete the ongoing forensic audit, which is for the best interests of the region and all stakeholders”.
He expressed optimism that Mr. Effiong Okon Akwa, Sole Administrator of NDDC, will reposition the NDDC and ensure to put the Commission in the right direction to achieve the mandate for which it was established.
