Ukah , Others Emphasize Need For Title Holders To Add More Value For Societal Growth

The need for individuals to leverage on their positions of recognition to contribute their quota to the development of their communities and add value to the society at large, has been strongly stressed.

Delta State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Chief Patrick Ukah, (Atakakpor-Enyi 1) of Okpanam stated this in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State during the conferment of chieftaincy title on Ogbueshi Paul Okolie Dunkwu

Chief Ukah, said that the title was an indication that one has joined the league of elders in the community, adding that Ogbueshi Paul Okolie Dunkwu should avail himself of the recognition to contribute more towards the growth and development of Okpanam community.

Earlier, the Chief priest of the community, Ogbueshi Abua Ntoka , Hon. Victor Dunkwu and Ogbueshi,(Dr) Paul Nwayalani , in their separate remarks lauded Ogbueshi Paul Okolie Dunkwu for his outstanding contributions to the society as well as his boldness to take the Alor title.

While saying that the responsibilities of the position was enormous, Ogbueshi Ntoka and Hon. Victor Dunkwu, who is the younger brother to the celebrant and a former supervisory councillor for Agriculture in Oshimili North Local Government Area described the celebrant as humble and articulate and would strengthen the union of title holders in the community with his wisdom.

Hon. Victor Dunkwu, particularly noted that with the title, the celebrant would be part of decision makers in the community and stated that the celebrant have not been found wanting in anything.

The celebrant, Ogbueshi Paul Okolie Dunkwu said that he decided to take the title in order to contribute more meaningfully to the progress of his community, emphasising that in Okpanam culture and traditions, any first son of an Ogbueshi was entitled to take such title after their father had died though optional.

Chief Paul Okolie Dunkwu, however, pledged to abide by the rules and regulations guiding the title, saying that he would join his colleagues to make Okpanam great.
