Udoro Charles Hails Restoration Of Ughelli South, Abraka State Constituencies
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the Delta State House of Assembly, Ughelli South Constituency I, Udoro O. Charles, has hailed the restoration of the Ughelli South and Abraka State Constituencies by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), describing the development as a victory for democracy and the people of the affected communities.
In a statement, Charles congratulated residents of Ughelli South and Abraka on the long-awaited restoration, noting that the decision would strengthen democratic representation and ensure that the voices of the people are better heard in the Delta State House of Assembly.
He described the development as timely, saying it came at a moment when the people needed renewed hope and greater political inclusion.
According to him, “This development has come at a most opportune moment, and we are reminded that God’s timing is always perfect.”
Charles, who is contesting to represent the Ughelli South Constituency I, noted that the constituency comprises the Ughievwen communities of Orhohwe, Owahwa, Ukpedi, and Uhurie. He explained that Ughelli South Constituency II comprises Olomu, Ewu, Effurun-Otor, Okparebe, and Arhawarien Communities.

He commended everyone whose efforts contributed to the restoration of the constituencies and urged the people to remain united as they prepare to take advantage of the opportunities the reinstatement presents.
Recall that on Friday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) commenced the implementation of the Supreme Court judgment restoring the Abraka and Ughelli South State Constituencies, alongside 29 other state constituencies across the country. The exercise followed the commission’s approval of a revised list of state constituencies in compliance with court judgments, paving the way for the affected constituencies to be represented once again in their respective State Houses of Assembly.
Charles expressed confidence that the dual constituencies would usher in improved representation, accelerated development, and greater participation in the democratic process, while calling on residents to continue working together for the progress and prosperity of their communities.
