Delta: Butchers Union Of Nigeria Swears In New Exco, As Comrade Adidi Emerges Chairman

The President of the National Butchers Union of Nigeria, High Chief John Osemede Adun (JP) aka Bob Izua on Thursday 7th January, 2021 at the Cenotaph in the state capital Asaba, inaugurated the Exco of the Delta State Chapter of the Union with comrade Isaac Ok Adidi emering as the Delta state Chairman, and Comrade Atunusha OC. Pope was elected secretary.

Mr. Okwudili Chime and David Emeigho got the position of first vice chairman and second vice chairman respectively.

Other exco members include Mr. Ohwobeno O. Henry, Treasurer, Mr Izuna Aniebuka, Financial Secretary, Snr. Apostle Dr. M.L. Ugbobor Snr. Adviser, Asiwaju Salami Olaniy, Auditor, Samuel Idhomi, Speaker, Mr. Okakoso O.George, Organizer, Mr. Akpoili Lukeman, Provost, and Mr. Ujoma Julius, PRO.

Others are Madam Queen Onobrorhe, Women Leader, Alhaji Tanko Abdulahi, Chairman Delta North, Mr. Godwin Emujakpo, Chairman Delta Central, Mr. Sunday Obasi, Asst. Organizer, Mr. Dolor Joshua, Asst. Secretary, Gloria Ozah, Asst. Women Leader, Isaac Emuakpeje, Asst. PRO, Mrs. Mary Agbede, Asst. Welfare Officer, Ogochukwu Okafor Ex-Officio, Anthony Uvo Ex-Officio and Mr. Felix Eregare also Ex-Officio.

High Chief John Osemede Adum aka Bob Izua, National President of the Union advised the former exco, the newly sworn exco led by Comrade Isaac Adidi and the entire members of the Delta State Chapter of the Union not to involve in any divisive measure against the leadership of the Union, stressing that unity is fundamental for the successful and seamless operation of any union.

The Butchers National President thanked Governor Okowa of Delta State for graciously approving N50million revolving fund for the former exco of Delta State Chapter of the Union, adding that the Okowa Administration has truly brought prosperity to all Deltans as encapsulated in the Smart Agenda.

However, the National President noted that there is need for accountability of that fund no matter whose ox is gored.

He advised the butchers to support the Governor Okowa’s Administration to achieve the vision of a stronger Delta as he called on other state governors to emulate the laudable developmental strides of Governor Okowa which has earned him the acronym of the ‘Road Master’ and the Ekweme of the Universe.

The President of the National Butcher Union, High Chief John Osemede Adum (JP) aka Bob Izua equivocally declared that the only recognized butchers body nationwide is National Butchers Union and not the splinter group known as Delta Butchers Union.

According to him, the National Butchers Union has been in existence for over 20 years and still counting.

Chief Bob Izua hinted that the Union is officially registered and recognized by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

He revealed that the Delta State Branch of the Union deviated in the past by failing to conduct elections after the official tenure has elapsed.

He called on all Deltans and non-Deltans alike to recognize the newly inaugurated executives led by Comrade Isaac O.K. Adidi (Chairman), Comrade Atunusha Pope (Secretary), Snr. Apostle (Dr.) Mesakoru Ugbobor Snr. Adviser, Vice Chairman and Wilson Macaulay as the Media and Publicity Director.

The National President, High Chief John Osemede Adum assured the new leadership of his support and advised the new chairman to carry all the members along and to play the fatherly role in every situation.

High Chief Arthur Okorie Uzoma Okowa, Father of His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State Senator Ifeanyi Okowa who was the Father of the day prayed for the chairman and the new executive.

The octogenarian father of the Governor expressed confidence in the new exco, stating that he is convinced that they have the requisite knowledge to take the Union to greater heights.

He advised the Union members to always key in to the ‘Stronger Delta’ vision of His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, the Governor of Delta State, whom God is using to change the narrative of the Government, the good people of Delta State and beyond.

The Chairman of the occasion, His Royal Majesty Prof. Joseph Chike Edozien, the Asagba of Asaba represented by Obi Dr. Ben Ugboko warmly welcomed all members of the National Butchers Union to Asaba as he advised the butchers to feed the nation with healthy meat.

He promised to give the Union all necessary support anytime the need arises, saying that the palace is opened for them.

The newly elected Chairman of the Delta State Chapter of the National Butchers Union, Comrade Isaac O.K. Adidi in his acceptance speech pledged to be sincere and liberal in the execution of all programmes with fairness, equity and to respect the rule of law as well as the government of the day led by the road master Governor, Senator Authur Ifeanyi Okowa.

He also reaffirmed to work effectively to ensure that standard abattoirs, both private and public all over the state make available safe and hygienic beef, goat and pork at all point of sales across the state.

He promised a welfare policy that will lead to the reduction of debts owed by butchers in Delta State and total restructuring of the beef market to encourage decency and excellence.

The new Chairman thanked all dignitaries present especially the Father of His Excellency High Chief Arthur Okowa who was the father of the day, the Chairman of the occasion, Prof. Joseph Chike Edozien, the special guest of honour/President of the National Butchers Union of Nigeria, High Chief John Osemede Adum, HRM, Orhue 1 the Orodje of Okpe, represented by Chief Hero Omwirhiren, the Uriri of Okpe Kingdom, Chief James Augoye, Delta State Honourable for Works represented by Victory Ukeredi ESQ, Prof. Sam Oyovbaire, Chairman Elders Advisory Council represented by Arch. Oyovbaire Jr. and many others too numerous to mention.
