The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. in Ethiope East Council election, Pharmacist Victor Ofobrukueta, has been described by some leaders of the party, as a better, fit and proper person to take charge of the council affairs at this time.

They asserted that PDP candidate, Ofobrukueta has intimidating academic and work experience profile that cannot be faulted, coupled with the fact that his agenda on agriculture, tourism, empowerment, primary health care, community enterprise development partnership with government, skills acquisition and vocational training programmes will substantially transform the socioeconomic fortunes of the council area and the people.

Former member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency at the National Assembly and Special Adviser to the Governor of Delta State on Community Enterprise Development, Hon Akpodiogaga Sunny Emeyese, while speaking at the Fund Raising ceremony for the Council Electioneering campaign said Victor’s antecedents clearly revealed that he has the required potentials and mental capacity to generate ideas and drive them to fruition.

The fundraising took place at the country home of the Honourable Commissioner for Urban Renewal, Barrister Arthur Akpowowo, in Eku on Sunday 21 February, 2021.

Emeyese noted that as Supervisory Councillor for Health and later as Leader of the Council Legislative Arm, Ofobrukueta discharged his duties creditably and without blemish; working round the clock with his predecessor, Hon Mrs Faith Majemite and leaders of the party, adding that the calm and honest disposition of the party council election candidate has endeared him to the hearts of the good people of Ethiope East Local Government Area.

Emeyese said Victor’s victory at the polls on March 6, shall be overwhelming as a result of his pedigree and more importantly because of the uncommon transformation initiated and implemented in all sectors of the state economy by the state governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa and his team, and urged party faithfuls to work very hard to ensure landslide victory for PDP, the Chairmanship candidate and the entire 20 councillors.

Honourable Commissioner for Urban Renewal, Olorogun Barr Arthur Akpowowo, the LGA Party Chairman, Hon Felix Erhimedafe and the Chairman of Campaign Publicity Committee for the party in the LGA, Barrister Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, corroborated Emeyese’s assertions describing Ofobrukueta as a sound, dynamic, highly resourceful and emerging leader with performance promise.

According to Akpowowo, Ofobrukueta/PDP is a super combination and there is no doubt that the party shall win the council elections in Ethiope East and across the state, adding that the enviable achievements of Okowa administration is enough reason for PDP to win with a wide margin.

Chairman of LGA PDP Campaign Committee, Hon Felix Ejovwoke Erhimedafe disclosed that electioneering campaign will commence on Tuesday 23rd February and to end on Thursday 25th February, designed to drum up massive grassroots support for the victory of Ofobrukueta, PDP and the 20 councillors to be elected on March 6.

He described Ofobrukueta as a divine mandate which no mortal being can prevent from emerging as the next council chairman in the LGA, pointing out that Ethiope East PDP is one big family, and that members should put aside any divisive tendency and join hands to further grow the party, imbibe discipline and engage in politics of “all inclusiveness” as against the “rule of the few”, so as to strategically position Ethiope East PDP for victory, come 2023 general elections.

In the same vein, Chairman of the LGA PDP Campaign Publicity Committee, Dr Fred Latinore Oghenesivbe said the opposition candidate for the council election is never a match for Pharmacist Victor Ofobrukueta, saying that the PDP candidate for Ethiope East council election is pragmatic, proactive, visionary, matured in character and experienced in the affairs of local government administration.

He said Ofobrukueta parades sound academic credentials and was the arrowhead of all Leaders of Council Legislative Arm in Nigeria, as against the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, pointing out that the APC candidate is grossly inexperienced, very unpopular with no clear cut agenda for the people.

Oghenesivbe said APC has become s laughing stock in Delta State and across the country, as a result of the many failures of the APC national government, coupled with the repulsive and distasteful infighting’s among the leaders of the three factions of the party in the state, adding that no reasonable eligible voter will cast his or her vote for a failed and fictionalised party like the APC.

The renowned Political Communication Strategist and Fellow of the Civilian Institute of Democratic Administration, fcida, said the PDP candidate, Pharmacist Ofobrukueta Victor, has been practically involved in local government administration in the past six years, and that he is better placed and more knowledgeable to provide responsible leadership, spread dividend of democracy to the good people of Ethiope East; skills acquisition and vocational training for Ethiope East teeming youth, women and those willing to key into his uncommon transformation and a Stronger Ethiope East agenda.

“Our Candidate is the man of the moment and the opposition APC candidate is too politically weak and lack the potentials to withstand the highly experienced and well educated PDP flag bearer, in the person of Pharmacist Victor Ofobrukueta.

“It is common knowledge that APC national government has failed Nigerians and it is crystal clear that Nigeria is not making any meaningful progress under the APC government at the centre; in terms of insecurity problems bedeviling the nation, consistent fragile economic, persistent decaying infrastructure, increased massive corruption cases, uncivilized, unwarranted and retrogressive class conflicts among gladiators within the rank and file of APC national government led by President Muhammadu Buhari.

“It is therefore very obvious that Deltans shall continue to reject the failed APC, Nigerians will continue to avoid the failed APC and the good people of Ethiope East will have nothing to do with the failed APC party. Not now, not in 2023.

“The choice of the people is PDP, and Victory is sure for Pharmacist Victor Ofobrukueta and the 20 councillors in Ethiope East, come March 6,” Oghenesivbe assured.
