Lekki Tollgate: Lagos CP Lied, Arrested Protesters Are To Be Charged To Court, Says Sowore

Publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, has said that a statement credited to the Commissioner of Police,
Hakeem Odumosu, that he has ordered the arrested #OccupyLekkiTollgate protesters to be released is false.

Sowore’s tweet on Saturday evening said: “Contrary to the lie by

Lagos Commissioner, Odumosu, the Lagos state governor,
@jidesanwoolu
has directed
@mrmacaronii
and several others being tortured & dehumanized to be arraigned before a kangaroo mobile court.”

He added that their lawyers led by Femi Falana SAN has sent representatives to secure the release of the 35 protesters said to be in police detention.

The protesters had condemned the reopening of the Lekki Tollgate where it is alleged that some #EndSars protesters were murdered by security operatives.

Reports said those arrested will be charged for constituting public nuisance and breaking COVID-19 protocols.
