My Take On The Delta APC Crisis –Daniel Dafe

Delta APC wise up! It is quite embarrassing to see that power tussle has again grounded the APC in Delta State. Although, some leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) think all is well, it is obvious that the party in the state is at an all-time-low.

Agreed, the Deputy Senate President is the leader of the party in the state as it were, but he must not be seen flaunting this on the faces of others and making them look like nobodies. He must carry everyone along and respect every other stakeholder and not try to hijack the party structure. If he fails to do this, then there must be something he is trying to hide or afraid of. It has been said by some Urhobo sons that he betrayed Ogboru in the last election. My appeal to those with such thoughts is that that allegation must be dropped and Urhobo Nation must move forward. Are we not tired of continually been mocked by our brothers from the south and north in the state?

Also, to the stakeholders, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege must be given the respect he deserves. He is the most senior political office holder in the party. Just like I suggested that he must carry others along, others must give him the respect and not act like they are threats to his high office. Smiles!

The woe that befell the party during Okowa’s first and second election may be worse this time no matter the candidate that the PDP projects for the governorship. Why? Because Urhobo sons are divided.

Let us put it straight. The cold war before now was between Agege and Ogboru. Now Keyamo has joined in this fight. Otega Emerhor has promised to settle the squabbles. Does he mean it or it is just another political statement just like the one our super senator made when he promised to make Ogboru the governor through the courts while in Orogun as reported by many media houses.

Meanwhile, the same error Chief Great Ogboru made then when he thought he could do it all alone, is what I see Agege doing now. Imagine how so many important leaders were missing in the Asaba meeting of APC stakeholders to flag off the APC membership registration and revalidation according to sources.

Delta APC needs to sit up so that Okowa’s government can be on their toes.

The reason for writing this piece is because I want peace in Urhobo land and I want a better Delta State.

No doubt, Senator Agege has performed excellently well representing the people of Delta Central at the Red Chambers. But, if you ask me, I think Agege should consider going back to the Senate to pursue another term. His vibrancy is needed at the Senate in representing Urhobo cause. But no, it looks better to govern Delta than just going back to the senate especially since he may just return as a floor member. Remember Ekweremadu!!!!!

Having said all these, I appeal to successful Urhobo sons to immediately begin the process of reuniting Urhobo Nation. Not just for 2023 elections, but to restore the dignity of Urhobo Nation.
Chief Joe Omene recently posited that too many of our youths are now into Okada riding. Also, many are now YAHOO YAHOO boys. Cultism too seems to be on the rise.

Urhobo Nation which way? This is not the time to take sides and allow sentiments determine your judgment on the ongoing crisis in Urhobo land.
