Ahead of the 2023 election, more supporters of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu are drumming support for the presidential bid of the national leader of All Progressives Congress (APC)

According to The Nation, Aminu Suleiman, the director-general of the Tinubu Support Organisation (TSO), the north will prefer Tinubu to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.

Suleiman who made the statement during a meeting of the organisation said this is because the APC is well accepted in the north, adding that Tinubu has what it takes to lead the country.

The director-general of Tinubu Support Organisation says the entire north and its people are behind the APC leader.

He explained that the former Lagos state governor holding his birthday lecture in Kano state showed that Tinubu is well accepted by the northerners.

The director-general speaking further stated that if someone is accepted in Kano, which is the heart of the north, this means the entire region has accepted the individual.

He bragged that if Abubakar Atiku contested in the 2023 election, he would be no match for the APC leader in the north.

Back in February, Suleiman said that the entire north and its people are behind Tinubu’s presidential aspiration, ThisDay reports.

Suleiman claimed that the north owed Tinubu a debt of gratitude and all northern political leaders and governors have resolved to work hard to ensure that he takes over from Buhari in 2023.

Key stakeholders in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have been subtly declaring their support for Tinubu ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

More importantly for the APC national leader, a number of northern governors are favourably disposed to his ambition.

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state has not hidden his support for Tinubu as the former Lagos state governor was accorded a royal reception in the northwest state, where his birthday lecture was held.
