Police Arrest Ex-Convict, Black Arrow For Murder Of Vigilante Member In Delta
…Sahlisu Isn’t My Son, Etsu-Nupe
The Delta State Police Command led by CP Ari Muhammed Ali has arrested an ex-convict, Sahlisu (surname unknown) a.k.a, Black Arrow for the alleged murder of a vigilante, Onajite Okolejo in Warri.
It was learnt that said Sahlisu was sent to jail for alleged cult activities in Hausa Quarters in Warri and was released in 2019 after he spent eleven months in prison.
Sahlisu’s arrest has been widely misreported to be the son of the Etsu-Nupe of Warri and its environs, Alhaji Mohammed Zuberu Tajudeen.
No one had been able to state the facts if truly he is a biological son of the Nupe monarch.
Sahlisu’s mother, Nana Tairhu is a step sister to the Etsu-Nupe of Warri and from Kogi State while his father is from Katsina State, DAILY POST learnt.
The suspect who is the only child of his father is partially blind and helpless begging for arms at the Hausa Quarters.
The Delta State Police Command led by the Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Muhammed Ali had in a statement signed by the Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Edafe Bright confirmed the arrest of the suspect.
According to the Police,”On 4/4/2021 at about 1908hrs, The chairman of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) of Zone 12 Hausa Quarters Warri reported that on the same date at about 0100hrs, he received a phone call from one Onajite Okolejo ‘m’ aged 36yrs a VGN member working under the unit that he was being attacked by some armed gang.
“The DPO ‘A’ Division Warri, CSP T.Y Mammud mobilized patrol team immediately to the scene and rescued the victim to the hospital, while in the hospital, the boy made a dying declaration that one of the suspect that attacked and shot him was a boy called Sahlisu ‘m’ surname unknown AKA Black Arrow; and he is the biological son of Etsu Nupe of Hausa Quarters Warri.
“The Commissioner of police Delta state CP Ari Muhammed Ali FCIA, PSC+ mandated that the Divisional of Police must do everything possible to see that these suspects are arrested and brought to book.

He said none of his sons were arrested for the alleged murder of a vigilante member or any other criminal activities in the town.
“Nobody should scandalize my name. They should be warned. Anybody that says my son was arrested for the murder of a vigilante member is telling lies.
“I did not give birth to anybody called Sahlisu. But my sister gave birth to a son called Sahlisu.”
Alhaji Tajudeen stated the names and date of his birth of children to include, Mrs. Isah Jamila 1980, Miss Zainab Zuberu 1986, Miss Amina Zuberu 2000,Miss Medinatu Zuberu 2003, Sarki Zakari Yau Zuberu 2005, Zuberu Dan Zaberu(Officer) 2009, Abdul-Rasheed Babatunde Zuberu 2007 and Aisha Zuberu 2016.

“I don’t have a son called Sahlisu. I have children but none of them bear Sahlisu,” he added.
Our correspondent who monitored activities around Hausa Quarters and Nupe line in Igbudu market in Warri reports that prior to the arrest of the suspect, his relationship with his uncle, the Etsu-Nupe of Warri and its environs had not been cordial because he (uncle) had always wanted him to stay out of crime and criminal activities including cultism.
