Defection: PDP Northern Governors Forum Meets In Abuja
The People’s Democratic Party Northern Governors forum has described the intimidation tactics of the APC led Federal Government as undemocratic and unacceptable.
Rising from their meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, the Governors said the persistent push to make Nigeria a one party State must be stopped in the interest of democracy.
The meeting was attended by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State who is also the Chairman of the PDP Governors forum, Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku of Taraba State, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue and Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State.

Speaking for the group, Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State accused the Federal Government of short changing the region.
He said APC has not provided the leadership needed and has left the North in perpetual poverty and underdevelopment.
Governor Darius noted that the Governors have resolved to continue with their rescue mission in their States and would not leave anything to chance towards addressing the needs of their people.
This is in the light of recent defections by some Governors, saying that they were coerced into doing so.
Adding that they have resolved to defend democracy in Nigeria.
