Security: PCRC Zone 5 Chairman, Amb Odjuvwumiderhi Urges Women Not To Abdicate Their Responsibilities
Charges PCRC Women To Be Goal Oriented, Gives Kudos To Delta State Head Of Service, Commissioner Of Police

The Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Police Relations who doubles as the Chairman, PCRC, Zone 5 Command, Amb (Dr) Chief Dcns. Odet Odjuvwumiderhi (JP), has tasked women to imbibe the culture of indoctrinating love, peace and unity in their children, saying that this is in line with the SMART AGENDA of the present administration of Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and the National Chairman of PCRC, Amb. Dr. Faruk Maiyama (Yarima Jega).
She said this when she led the executive of the newly inaugurated State PCRC Women Committee, Delta State Chapter on a courtesy visit to their National matron, Chief (Mrs) Patience Nkem Kanke Okwuofu JP, Head of Service, Delta State in Asaba, the state capital.
While commending PCRC National Chairman for his wonderful ideas for constituting women from divisional level to national level to assist in the security challenges faced in recent time, she added that he considers women as vital organs in security setting and advocate of peace.
She equally commended the National Vice Chairman (South South), Deacon Ken Otunoyo, for his strides in south south, saying he has been of great assistance in the south south.
Chief Mrs Odet Odjuvwumiderhi who has been a member of PCRC since 1994 chronologically analysed their achievements since inception.

She used the opportunity to introduce the newly inaugurated women committee of the PCRC to Chief Okwuofu.
The Executive Assistant to the Governor on Police Relations appreciated the efforts of the National Chairman of PCRC, Amb Dr Farouk Mayama for inaugurating the women body of the committee.
Amb Odet Odjuvwumiderhi AKA BRAVO expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Executive Governor of Delta State, Sen Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for the opportunity given to her to serve in his cabinet.
She poured encomium on him considering the peace and security achieved by his administration, as she commened him in his fight against criminality by way of his support of security operatives in the state.
The State Coordinator, Chief Dr Dcns Dora Akporehe (JP) in her remarks, said, “there is need for proper and adequate enlightenment, seminars, and conferences to curb the security challenges in some parts of the country and within our communities.”
“Our National matron, we are here to solicit for your support and advice towards the actualization of the dream of our founding fathers,” she stated.
On her part, the National matron of the PCRC, Chief Okwuofu (JP), said women are very essential in nation building hence the inauguration of the women committee is timely.
She urged them to emulate the good work and selfless service of the Zone 5 Chairman, Chief Amb Dr O. Odjuvwumiderhi, who is in charge of Delta and Edo States.
She added: “It is time for women to wake up to their responsibilities by inculcating good norms, values, and morals in their children and also watch the activities of their wards towards correcting their wrongs.”
“The peace and security we enjoy today is as a result of the good security architecture designed by the state Governor, Sen Dr Ifeanyi Okowa and I want you to consolidate on it,” she advised.
The Executive Assistant to the Governor on Police Relations also introduced the women Committee of the PCRC to DCP. Mrs Josephin Ayanti in her office.
DCP Ayanti in her address, lamented gender inequality in the country.
She said she is an advocate of community policing but frowned at the attitude of some parents encouraging their children into financial crime.
She advised the members to go about their selfless and herculean task carefully.
Meanwhile, the State Coordinator and her exco also met with the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Ari Mohamed Ali.
After a brief introduction and informing the CP of the latest development of the PCRC, Ari thanked the team for their prompt visit and successful inauguration some weeks ago.
He thanked Amb Odet Odjuvwumiderhi for coming out strong with iron determination towards that initiative as ”the role of women in Nation building is inevitable and cannot be overemphasized.”
He said women seem more reliable when given certain opportunity and there is need for a good synergy or collaboration between the police and the PCRC especially in information gathering.
The newly Inaugurated women committee of the PCRC, Delta chapter were drawn from the three senatorial districts in the state.
They are a conglomerate of academicians and successful business women.
The newly inaugurated committee include: State Coordinator, Chief Mrs Dorah Akporehe (JP) Ph.D; Deputy State Coordinator, Hon Gbe Fere-Ere (JP), Secretary, Amb Otega Okinono PhD; PRO, Iyke- Ezearku Nsobundu Hannah and Organizing Secretary, Roseline Akpejoye.
Others are Welfare Director, Dcn Joy Ariguzor; Treasurer, Lady Nkechi Ugbaja Uwakwe; Assistant Sec, Shuabu; Auditor, Mrs Ijueh Madu and Provost, Iniovorua Anna Oghenevwairhe.
