Thieves Attack Delta Market, Burgle Female Journalist’s Shop, Steal Phone Worth N100,000

Suspected thieves on Sunday night attacked Oghior Market in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State and burgled into a shop owned by a female Journalist, Success Okuchemiya and stole a mobile phone worth one hundred thousand naira.

The journalist cum businesswoman who expressed sadness over the incidence said the suspected thieves gained access into the market that is being guarded by four mobile policemen.

Success, an Assistant Editor with the South-South Magazine, who conducted our Cvorrespondent round the market said the thieves burgled into her shop through the ceiling and stole a mobile phone from the point (manhole) at which they gained access.

While noting that she and other traders pay one thousand naira security fee monthly, Success insisted that the Security operatives on guard duty must be held responsible for any damages and lost traders suffered by traders as a result of the ugly incident.

She noted that she drew the attention of the policemen on guard duty as well as the market master who came to the scene of the incident but there was no positive response from them as one of them claimed the robbers came through the back of the said market.

According to her, the security operatives are trying to absolve themselves of complicity or any wrong doing in the matter.

Success who tendered photographs of her shop and manhole through which the thieves burgled into her shop, said that she will incident the matter at the Ovwian/Aladja Police Station.
