BREAKING: Ukwuani LGA Imposes Curfew In Obiaruku, As Cult Clash Claims Two Lives

As a result of the rising tension due to the cultists clash that has claimed two lives within the last 24 hours in Obiaruku, Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State, 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐸𝑥𝑒𝑐𝑢𝑡𝑖𝑣𝑒 𝐶ℎ𝑎𝑖𝑟𝑚𝑎𝑛, Hon. Possible Ajede, has imposed a dusk-till-dawn curfew in Obiaruku, the administrative headquarters of the council area from 8p.m. to 6am daily.

This was disclosed in a statement on Sunday signed by 𝐂𝐡𝐮𝐤𝐮𝐧𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐦 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐃𝐚𝐟𝐢𝐤𝐩𝐚𝐤𝐮, Secretary to the Local Government.

The said statement added called on the g𝑒𝑛𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑙 p𝑢𝑏𝑙𝑖𝑐, 𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑡𝑖𝑐𝑢𝑙𝑎𝑟𝑙𝑦 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑝𝑒𝑜𝑝𝑙𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑈𝑘𝑤𝑢𝑎𝑛𝑖 𝐿𝑜𝑐𝑎𝑙 𝐺𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑛𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝐴𝑟𝑒𝑎, to be aware 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 the curfew will take e𝑓𝑓𝑒𝑐𝑡 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝑆𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑎𝑦, 26𝑡ℎ 𝑆𝑒𝑝𝑡𝑒𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑟, 2021 𝑡𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑓𝑢𝑟𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑛𝑜𝑡𝑖𝑐𝑒.

“𝑇𝑜 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑒𝑓𝑓𝑒𝑐𝑡, 𝑎𝑙𝑙 s𝑒𝑐𝑢𝑟𝑖𝑡𝑦 a𝑔𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑖𝑒𝑠 𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑡𝑖𝑐𝑢𝑙𝑎𝑟𝑙𝑦 𝑡ℎ𝑒 p𝑜𝑙𝑖𝑐𝑒 𝑎𝑟𝑒 ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒𝑏𝑦 𝑑𝑖𝑟𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑐𝑡𝑙𝑦 𝑒𝑛𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑐𝑒 𝑠𝑎𝑚𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑒𝑛𝑠𝑢𝑟𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑖𝑠 𝑛𝑜 𝑚𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑜𝑓 𝑝𝑒𝑜𝑝𝑙𝑒, 𝑚𝑜𝑡𝑜𝑟𝑐𝑦𝑐𝑙𝑒𝑠 𝑜𝑟 𝑣𝑒ℎ𝑖𝑐𝑙𝑒𝑠 𝑑𝑢𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑢𝑟𝑓𝑒𝑤 ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑠,” the statement added.

The council authority urged 𝑈𝑘𝑤𝑢𝑎𝑛𝑖 people, 𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑖𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑠, 𝑜𝑤𝑛𝑒𝑟𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑜𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑜𝑟𝑠 𝑜𝑓 𝑝𝑢𝑏𝑙𝑖𝑐 𝑝𝑙𝑎𝑐𝑒𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑒𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑏𝑙𝑖𝑠ℎ𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑠 𝑖𝑛 𝑂𝑏𝑖𝑎𝑟𝑢𝑘𝑢 𝑡𝑜 𝑓𝑢𝑙𝑙𝑦 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑙𝑦 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑑𝑖𝑟𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑣𝑒, saying that “𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑏𝑒 𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑐𝑡 𝑒𝑛𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑐𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑢𝑟𝑓𝑒𝑤 𝑏𝑦 𝑠𝑒𝑐𝑢𝑟𝑖𝑡𝑦 𝑎𝑔𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑖𝑒𝑠 𝑖𝑛 𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑒 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑑𝑖𝑟𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑣𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐿𝑜𝑐𝑎𝑙 𝐺𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑛𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝐶𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑐𝑖𝑙.”
