Delta CP Rolls Out Robust Policing Of Schools, Gives Security Tips To NAPPS Members

The Commissioner of Police in Delta State, CP Ari Mohammed Ali, has said that the Delta State Police Command “has rolled out an all-proactive security measure which includes robust policing of schools to nip in the bud any untoward event.”
The police boss who spoke on Tuesday during a programme organized by the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), Delta State Chapter, in Abraka, with theme: ‘Curbing Rising Spate of Insecurity: Way Forward for Education in Nigeria,’ added that “schools are at liberty to design her security structure to suit the cardinal purpose for which the school is set up.”
CP Ali who was represented by the Divisional Police Officer, Abraka, SP Fabian Ayameh, called on schools to adopt “a range of crime prevention strategies to reduce the likelihood and consequences of criminal activity on their site.”
These strategies, he said range from improvements to maintenance of physical infrastructure, electronic system and processes.

He continued: “Schools may seek assistance from the Security Advisory Unit if they require additional security advice and support to address their security risk.
“This can be achieved by implementing physical, electronic and procedural security measures that deter deny, delay and detect criminal activities.”
CP Ari also urged school authorities to check some bad elements within the ranks of teaching administration, just as he tasked them to also monitor their students/pupils especially the girl child student/pupil.
