The All Progressive Congress (APC) Delta State chapter, has described the alleged defection of some persons in Ukwuani/Ndokwa Federal Constituency to the PDP as having no consequence on the party’s fortunes.

The party In a statement signed by Francis Ameachi of the Directorate of Media and Publicity, APC, Delta State stated that the drowning PDP in the state failed to mention their names nor describe them before making the spurious and wild report that the defectors were members of APC in Delta State saying, that the only name mentioned in the phantom statement is not a member of the APC.

“The wild claim by agents of the Delta State government to the effect that some members of our great party, the APC defected to the PDP is utter falsehood that should be ignored by the general public particularly party faithfuls.”

While pleading that nobody should be deceived by the antics of the PDP whose image in Delta State politics has been seriously battered, he said APC saw the antics of PDP as another wasted effort among its numerous diversionary tactics meant to deceive the good people of the state

According to him, if at all the defectors were once members of APC, it means PDP is only left with the crude option of luring political deadwoods with money into their tearing and leaking party umbrella.

The APC noted with dismay, the high level of dereliction of duty by the State Government and its conduit pipe drowning party in their futile bid to receive deadwoods that can not add value to the IGR of the state but additional liabilities to the state fund.

Adding: “As a matter of fact, this is the height of insincerity and distrust in the PDP led government. As a decent party, we cannot be distracted by their ploy and sinister plans to create a semblance of disunity in our party.”

The statement continued: “If PDP is sure of such defections, especially if they were notable and result oriented politicians, PDP should not only have made their names known, their records of performances and the change they can bring to the state, but rather parading those constituting nuisance to the state and liability to the state purse who after six years, woke up to understand the benefits of stomach infrastructure in government house Asaba.”

The party went on to pick holes in the comments credited to Dr Ifeanyi Okowa and stated that the Deputy President of the Senate His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has no reason to tell lies to Deltans but spoke truth to power for their overall interest and wellbeing which today has made the State government very uncomfortable.

The party statement reads further; “The Deputy President of the Senate His Excellency, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has a reputation of telling the truth as it is and keeping faith with the people of Delta State which he holds in the most esteem regards. The party stressed that there was nothing wrong for the DSP requesting Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to first rescue Delta State before contemplating his Nigeria rescue fairytale.”

The statement added that, It is laughable for the governor to call on leaders to tell the truth, while he is unable to tell Deltans the truth on how poorly he has performed inspite of the humongous amount of federal allocations and IGR that is accrued to the coffers of the State monthly.

“Truth be told, Governor Okowa can’t compare himself to other State governors such as Rivers, Cross Rivers, Kano, Lagos etc that has turned their States into construction sites and building roads and bridges of international standards as against the caricature in Delta State.

“It is surprising and shameful that the Governor could admit publicly that the high point of his over six years administration, is the construction of a low quality bridge in Orere Ughelli South Local Government for an inflated price of over ten billion naira which is yet to be completed over the years,” Delta APC said.

The party however cautioned that those in the corridors of power are required by convention to be guarded by their utterances, and are respectfully required to exhibit high sense of decency and decorum.

“APC as a party of truth noted that it watches as the Governor brazenly drags the image of the high office he occupies to the abyss.

“Without mincing words, no matter the designs of the PDP and other subterranean forces, Delta APC is strong, united, unshakeable and poised to take over the reigns of power in Delta State come 2023,'” the party assured.
