Asaba-Onitsha Expressway: Delta Police Command Condemns Assault Of Passenger By Rapid Response Squad

Delta State Police Command has condemned the act of
Policemen attached to Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Command that carried out an assault on a young man along the Asaba-Onitsha expressway.
A press statement signed by the police spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe on Wednesday, reacting to the incidence that was also captured in a video that is making round on various social media handles, added that “the Command condemns the act of the Policemen in totality.”
The statement continued: “The Command wishes to state that the incident occurred sometime in the month of August 2021 and immediately it was brought to the knowledge of the Command, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ari Muhammed Ali FCIA, psc+ directed the incident be looked into which has since been done and the erring Policemen indeed found guilty of assault and were subjected to internal disciplinary mechanism after which they were adequately sanctioned.

“The CP while condemning the malfeasance conduct of the officers also urges members of the public to remain calm and assured of the Command’s commitment in dealing with any officer who disregard the human right of any person.”
