UPDATED: Gunmen Abduct Chairman Of Private School Owners Association In Delta

Chairman, National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), Delta State chapter, Deacon Monday Ifoghere, has been abducted.
Oasis Magazine learnt that he was kidnapped on Sunday at about 7p.m while returning to his residence in Eku, Ethiope East Local Government Area.
He was whisked away alongside his wife, Mrs Ifoghere.

According to a source from Eku who does not want to be mentioned, the wife of the state chairman lost the elder brother recently who was buried on Friday and so they journeyed to Ughelli for the outing service.
“It was while they were returning from the event that they were kidnapped,” adding that the kidnap happened by the Okro market at Egbo, Kokori.
Meanwhile, an executive of NAPPS in the state who spoke under conditions of anonymity, who confirmed the incidence, said NAPPS state executive was having a meeting on Whatsapp on Sunday and suddenly they discovered that the Chairman was no more participating, saying that minutes later, news broke out that he has been kidnapped.
Continuing, he said he called Deacon Ifoghere’s phone number immediately but there was no response, adding that later when he tried again, Ifoghere’s daughter answered the call and said she was in the bush after she confirmed the incidence, a situation he assumed showed that the daughter was lucky to have escaped, just as he prayed for a quick return of the victims.
Adding that they were returning from Ughelli when the abduction took place.
When contacted, the police spokesman in the state, DSP Bright Edafe, said they have not been able to confirm whether he was kidnapped or not.
“Though a camry car was seen somewhere, but we don’t know whether it is for him. We hope the family can come and give us updates. but for now we cannot confirm the incidence,” he added.
