Ethiope East Council Boss Reacts To Adjekpovu’s Death
…Says They’ll Unravel, Prosecute His Killers

The Executive Chairman, Ethiope East Local Government Council, Rt Hon (Pharm) Victor Ofobrukueta has expressed deep shock at the untimely demise of the councillor representing Ward 17 (also Ward 5), late Hon Jude Adjekpovu Ochuko who passed on in the early hours of Thursday.
Recall that Adjekpoju was shot some days ago along Abraka-Eku road by suspected Fulani herdsmen on his way to Abraka and died after 13 days in a private hospital in Warri.
In his condolence message obtained by BRYAN TVOnline through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Ehwarieme O.A, the Chairman said, he received the news with rude shock.
“My heart bled when the news of his death filtered in the air. Late Jude Adjekpovu was one of the sound, courageous, and highly intellectual Councillors in my local Government.
“His motions and contributions as a legislator are people oriented. On behalf of the great people of Ethiope East Local Government Council, I express my deep condolence to his friends and family and Ward 17 in general. May God give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable lost,” he said.
The Executive Chairman also affirmed his commitments towards unraveling and prosecuting the killers of the late honorable, saying they will never go scot free.
He said the insecurity being experienced in some parts of the local government especially in Eku and Abraka is traced to the nefarious activities of the herdsmen.

He said machineries are on ground towards curbing such future reoccurrence.
He urged all Ethiope Easterners to go about their normal and lawful duties and report any suspicious movements of any kind to the law enforcement agencies.
According to him, plans are ongoing to reform the local vigilante towards ameliorating this lingering kidnapping menace in the local government.
He warned that anyone who perpetrates or connives with any unscrupulous individual or group of individuals to breach the endearing peace in the local government will face the full wrath of the law squarely.
He also advised landlords and caretakers to know and have good knowledge of their tenants as security is everyone’s business.
