Urges Students To Shun Exam Malpractice

The need for students to prepare adequately for any examination through effective reading culture and shun examination malpractice has again been stressed.

The Delta State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu gave the admonition while monitoring the 2021 November / December West African Certificate Examinations and the National Examination Council (NECO) for private candidates in the state.

Ezewu, said that both examinations were usually taken by candidates who had either passed out from school but were unable to secure the required minimum credit passes in their various subjects or those who had surpassed secondary school age .

She reminded students that it was only through commitments and extra efforts that they could perform well in examinations.

While expressing satisfaction with the conduct of the examinations , Mrs. Ezewu stated that the secondary education part of the ministry under her watch would continue to embark on aggressive monitoring of examinations.

The commissioner, who decried the dearth of reading culture among students of nowadays, enjoined them desist from any acts capable of endangering their academic pursuits.

The examinations were also monitored by the Permanent Secretary in the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Augustine Ede Oghoro and the Director of Examination and Standard, Mr. Sunday Egomaguna among other monitors from the ministry.
