Imo State government led by Hope Uzodinma has accused a former governor of the state, Senator Rochas Okorocha, and his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu as those sponsoring terrorism in the state.

The State government said many of the suspects that were arrested by security operatives and currently in detention gave the names of the two men as those sponsoring them.

A press release on Tuesday by the government signed by Oguwike Nwachuku, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Hope Uzodinma said the accused persons have been fueling insecurity, particularly kidnapping, banditry, arson and cannibalism in Imo State.

The statement added that the duo of Okorocha and Nwosu have been spreading lies and other false narratives in an attempt to discredit the state government and undermine the peace in Imo state.

It also debunked reports that the Chief Security Officer of the Governor or any other person on the security team have been arrested or unaccounted for.

Nwachukwu ended by promising the people of Imo that the administration of Governor Uzodinma will continue to do everything possible to guarantee the wellbeing of the people regardless of what it takes.
