Okowa Will Have His Way On Who Becomes Delta’s Next Governor, Says Journalist, As PDP Caucus Meets In Asaba
By Daniel Dafe
Investigative journalist and Publisher of Secret Reporters, Fejiro Oliver, has said that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa will determine who becomes the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 contest in Delta State.
Recall that many believe all is not well in PDP camp, saying that there is an ongoing tussle between a former Governor, Chief James Ibori, who is also regarded as the political godfather of the party in the state and the incumbent governor over who produces the flag bearer for the ruling party in the oil-rich state.
At the time of filing this report, a PDP caucus meeting was said to be ongoing ahead of the mega rally of the party on Saturday in Asaba.
A Facebook post by Fejiro, said that the ongoing meeting “tonight in Delta State government house is to fulfil all righteousness.”
Speaking about Okowa, he said: “Even the way he walks signifies power. Sadly enough, the quiet walking man already has his candidate. God spoke to him about it early this year.”

This is just as pictures of Okowa and Ibori surfaced online that signified a meeting of the two political heavyweights on Friday.
While some Edevbie supporters believe that the meeting of Okowa and Ibori signifies Olorogun David Edevbie’s endorsement to clinch the ticket, a PDP chieftain who spoke to Oasis Magazine under conditions of anonymity said it was necessary for the ta to.meet because of the PDP mega rally tomorrow, adding that the who is who in Delta PDP were meeting in Asaba at the time of this report.
He opined that Okowa and Ibori will eventually shift grounds and support a candidate.
Adding that some of the followers of Ibori and Okowa are the ones making it look like there is a fight.
He added: “DC-23 and DPV are silently working together. Okowa is free to want to determine who succeeds him. Ibori brought in his cousin. Uduaghan failed to do so. But, I believe at the end of the day they will harmonize. Ibori AMD Okowa’s meeting has nothing to do with Edevbie.”
Meanwhile, many PDP members believe that after the ongoing caucus meeting, the picture will be clearer on who succeeds Okowa.
