Most Reverend Hillary Okeke Becomes Bishop Emeritus
Most Reverend Hillary Okeke of Nnewi Catholic Diocese today, 10th February, 2022, became a Bishop Emeritus following the installation of Most Reverend Jonasbenson Okoye who took over as the new Bishop of Nnewi Catholic Diocese.
The installation ceremony was remarkable as the Catholic Diocese of Nnewi also marked her 20th anniversary.
According to the bishop Emeritus in his valedictory speech, Catholic Diocese of Nnewi was created on 10th February 2002 which is exactly 20years today.

He thanked God for his guidance and protection upon the Diocese and prayed that his successor performs better.
He stated that his resignation was necessary due to his ill health which led to loss of memory and called on the people of Nnewi Catholic Diocese to give the new Bishop the maximum support to achieve
The Bishop Emeritus, thanked Governor Obiano, the Governor-Elect, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo and others who find time to join them in the ceremony.
The new Bishop of Nnewi Catholic Diocese, Most Reverend Jonasbenson Okoye in his acceptance speech appreciated everyone especially those that contributed towards the success of the installation.
He pledged his commitment to the growth of the Diocese and to the service of God and humanity.
