Urhobo Son, Orekereke Down With Blood Cancer, Appeals For Financial Assistance

An appeal to all well meaning sons and daughters of Urhobo nation in particular and Nigerians in general for support towards raising the medical bills of an illustratous Urhobo son, Dr. Udusan Joseph Orekereke whom have been diagnosed of Cancer of the Blood, had been made.
Akpobome Rufus Ibebe, in a Facebook post recalled that Dr. Orekereke, Lordmayor of Urhobowood International “has contributed greatly towards the growth and development of Urhobo Arts and Culture in various ways and mediums.”
He said: “In the pass few months, he has been shuttling UBTH (Benin and Ibadan) where he has been fighting the dreaded Blood Cancer disease that he was diagnosed of and is left with no other option than to appeal for your support to raise funds for treatment haven spent his savings.”
According to him, “the illness started around 2nd December, 2021 and he was rushed to Trinity Hospital Ughelli where was referred to UBTH Benin and later to Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife.”

“As side effects from the sickness, his sight has been badly affected and funds would be needed to carry out operation on his eyes as well as for the treatment of cancer.
“Close to six million has so far been spent and more funds are still needed to make him well again.
“To this effect, he wishes to humbly request for your financial and moral assistance towards his treatment,” he said.
