2023 Delta Guber: Deputy Governor Otuaro To Step Down?
Bearing any last minute alteration, a source very close to the Deputy Governor hinted that discussions were at advanced stages for the deputy governor, Barr Kingsley Otuaro, to step down for a foremost governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The usually credible source, who spoke confidently about the development, said that the deal was but sealed and would shortly be made public.
This is coming at a time the Ijaw National Congress (INC) were making spirited effort persuade him to step down for a foremost aspirant in the race.
However, it was not clear if the discussions were for the leading governorship hopeful of Ijaw ethnic extraction in Delta South or the immediate past chief of staff to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa (David Edevbie).

It would be recalled that the need to galvanize political efforts, through what has been termed the Ijaw Governorship Agenda 2023, has been on the front burner with most Ijaws expressing support for the deputy governor to act in deference to his kinsman and leading aspirant with state-wide appeal with not a few actually asserting that it would be viewed as conspiracy against their interest not to do so.
Nonetheless, some argued that the INC President should have been more decisive and disregarded the minority report from series of meetings by Ijaw leaders in Delta South.
The majority report from the meeting and consultation, involving topmost Ijaw leaders of thought and statesmen, gave it to foremost aspirant in this contest, Senator James Manager.
The deal is expected to be a turning point in the 2023 gubernatorial race in the state, and in the PDP in particular, as it would make the primary election a straight contest between one governorship aspirant from Delta South and all the other aspirants from mainly Delta Central.
Three aspirants of Ijaw ethnic nationality were screened recently by the PDP panel in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, but putting forward one aspirant through consensus appears the smartest and wisest option before the Ijaw nation in particular and Delta State in general.

Total from the pit of hell, Otuaro can’t stop for anyone. Otuaro is the most qualified candidate in Delta PDP governorship race . He cannot step for those who don’t know their left to right.
