Next Delta Governor: Time To End The Culture Of Electing Thieves

Since 1999 nascent democracy in Nigeria, Delta state has the worst governors, and these shameless failures flocking with the same set of political associates are pushing hard to impose successors that will sustain the hegemony for continued feasting on Delta state treasury at all cost.

And these greedy lots, Ibori, Uduaghan and Okowa are working at cross purposes to play kingmaker. Okowa is pushing hard for unfortunate Speaker Sheriff Oborevwori to take over from him to continue the government borrowing to loot at the expense of the state.

Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan and Chief James Ibori are in a do or die alliance to install looter Ibori’s chief financial advisor, David Edevbie to take over the Delta government to continue to satisfy their unrestrained looting appetite.

There is James Manager whose only known business and livelihood in Delta is politics. He is also fighting to be elected governor. He is one of the Ibori boys who are used to stealing and living on public wealth.

Should we keep quiet and allow these failed and irresponsible politicians to permanently control Delta. I have been an alone advocate for good governance, consistently challenging the Ibori, Uduaghan, and Okowa led self-serving administrations on the inciting lack of accountability since 1999, till recently, few other courageous Deltans joined the crusade for good governance.

In the search for the next Delta governor, nothing good will come from this alliance of looters holding on to power. No good will come from a Delta government led by Sheriff Oborevwori, James Manager, David Edevbie, and Ovie Omo-Agege.

Even Ovie Omo-Agege, with one leg PDP, and one leg APC is also Ibori’s boy who will do nothing more than loot. Ovie Omo-Agege has also taken politics as a family business since he was brought in by Ibori. None of these people was significant before 1999, including Uduaghan and Okowa.

I boldly challenge Ifeanyi Okowa, Emmanuel Uduaghan, Ovie Omo-Agege, David Edevbie, Sherriff Oborevwori and James Manager to tell Delta people what their financial status before 1999. Why should the Delta elites/masses honour thieves that have stolen from the Delta state treasury since 1999?

Ironically, the masses have continued to play the fool, cheering these shameless politicians? Those who steal from you are the same people you are supporting to be elected Delta governor come 2023. Has poverty turned even the Delta elites into morons?

The only explanation for commending and supporting the political aspiration of those who steal from you for a living is foolishness and ignorance. If you call yourself a Delta elite, educated and you blindly support one of these Delta shameless politicians, it simply means you are a fool, ‘ekpa’.

All of them supporting Ovie Omo-Agege, David Edevbie, James Manager, and Sheriff Oborevwori’s aspirations to be elected governor of Delta are FOOLS, ‘Ekpa’. Anyone who has been part of the hegemony that has been superintending on our commonwealth since 1999 is a thief as far as I know. And Delta people should shame them, not cheer them.

As for our Delta people in diaspora and living outside Delta, they should urgently advise their brothers and sisters living in Delta to reject these thieves who stole and still stealing from the public treasury. No foreigner will come to develop our country. It is our responsibility to develop Delta state.

And there can’t be any development if the preference for those who manage our commonwealth, is to support an alliance of thieves to lead the Delta State Government.
