Samuel Marierie Withdraws From PDP Rerun Primaries For Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency

Samuel Marierie has withdrawn from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rerun primaries for tomorrow.
The PDP on Sunday announced a rerun to hold at at the Ughelli Township stadium, saying that the exercise was canceled by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party as a result of s decision taken by the Appeals Committee.
In statememt on Sunday by the SAMUEL MARIERE CAMPAIGN ORGANISATION
(SAMACO 2023), titled
‘Notice of Withdrawal from the Re-run for Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency Primary election,’ Marierie said that “after robust consultations with leaders, teeming supporters, fans and well wishers over the pending re-run election, we are pleased to announce our withdrawal from the said re-run.”

“Having participated in the primary election which held on Sunday May 22, 2022, we have since moved on and went to Church in thanksgiving to God for his faithfulness in seeing us through this tortuous period. We are no longer interested in participating in any re-run.
“We appeal to our teeming supporters who may be disappointed by this decision to keep faith and trust our judgment in moving on to face other things.
“We thank the leader of the party in Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, the State Chairman, Chief Kingsley Esiso, our fathers and leaders, the delegates and party faithful for believing in us and for the goodwill and support over the years particularly during the PDP primaries which did not go in our favour,” the statement added.
