The statement, which was signed by Nze Nweke Nweke stated that her appointment was, after due consideration of her nomination by a cross-section of women groups across Nigeria that clamored for effective representation and participation of women in politics and governance in the forthcoming dispensation in the country.
The women groups commended the APM for listening to the yearnings of women by the appointment of Dr. Mrs. Abubakar and for being the only political party to give the female folk a sense of belonging in the emerging politics of 2023.
The statement noted that by the present arrangement, it was evident that APM has unlike other parties, not only zoned its presidential and vice-presidential positions to the geo-political zone that were hitherto neglected but that it has also graciously zoned the position to the youth and women, who are critical to national development.
The statement enjoined all Nigerian women and youths to ensure that they obtain their PVC to be in a position to vote for one of their own as the next President of the country.
The statement also noted that there was no other way the women and the youths could justify the consideration and offer made to them by APM than by identifying with the party by voting massively for them in the 2023 general elections.
“To whom much is given, much is also expected. For APM to have given the Vice President,” the stateneent said.
