Gbagi: I Will Win Delta Guber Election, Says Party Structure Will Not Determine Winners In 2023
By Daniel Dafe
Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Delta State for the 2023 elections, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi has said that he will win Delta guber election, saying that party structure will not determine those that emerge victorious in the 2023b general elections.
Olorogun Gbagi said this while responding to questions from journalists during a media chat with selected journalists across the state.
According to him, his party will emerge victorious in the state, adding that “market women, school teachers, pensioners, churches and church goers will vote and they do not have any structure.”
He said: “It is an election where you are to pick somebody that you believe can guarantee the future of your children, state and the fate of children yet unborn.
“Among all of us who have been thrown up as governorship aspirants, the choice is left to Deltans; if you want to pick somebody who will deaden the state than it already is left to the electorates. If they want the state to develop to a point when you go to teach and your salaries are paid as at when due; you finish pension and you get your money as at when due, is up to them as long as no one complains after the 29th of May, 2023.
“If they participate in selling their birthright for a package of Maggi or rice or any form of bribe, it is left to them to decide. I resonate to work with the youths in the society…the pensioners, teachers, doctors and to work with any and all that mean well for Delta State. So, the issue of structure has nothing to do with the election.”

He continued: “I do not need to have a structure. Everybody already knows me and what I do in Delta state. If you truly want your industries to be revived which I can do, I am the man to vote for. If you truly want your schools to be revived and your teachers paid salaries promptly I am the man to vote for. If you want your hospitals to have medical equipments and medicines to give to people, I am the man to vote for. If you want to have all these pensioners who are dying without their pensions being paid, I am the man to vote for. If you want transparency where you can see how the running of the state government Is taking place, I am the man to vote for. On the issue of industry, give me one year and come back to interview me again like this I will take you through what I have done. This state is the richest state in Africa, richer than over 24 countries in the world. I believe with all that is available here, I will turn this state to glory.”
The former Minister of State for Education said contrary to what is in the public domain, this is the first time he will be participating in an election with any political party.
In his words: “There are a lot of lies everywhere. People don’t conduct research and they just spread rumors. This is the first time I am going to be on the ballot and participate in an election and I can assure you that I will win the election.”
